Sustainable Stories with Toys

As a stakeholder of the “Sustainable Textile Product Dolls and Educational Toy Designs with Social Responsibility Awareness” project implemented by Dokuz Eylül University (DEU), we are happy to be able to make our children, who are our future, smile.

The kindness movement for children with leukemia started a few months ago by the academics of DEU Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Fashion and Clothing Design, combined with sustainability. Academics; they designd and produced cloth toys from scrap and surplus fabrics we shared for girls and boys with leukemia who were physically and psychologically exhausted during the treatment.

Fabrics and accessories suitable for health conditions, produced with organic agriculture, having anti-toxin and anti-allergic properties, were turned into cloth toys in the hands of academicians and given to children with leukemia who were treated at DEU Faculty of Medicine, Pediatric Oncology Institute.

The presentation of the project was exhibited under the name of “Sustainable Stories with Toys” with the participation of DEU Rector Prof. Dr. Nükhet Hotar. This valuable project, which we will always be proud to be a stakeholder in, will not be limited to the local area. First of all, it will be transformed into a project on a national scale and then on an international scale, and it will reach the children of the world.

As Akar Textile; We would like to express gratitude to DEU Faculty of Fine Arts Fashion Clothing Design Department, which enables us to support our children, who are our future, by carrying sustainability our of the field of production.
